Professional top-to-bottom house cleaning service by Hubbard's Maid Service

Top to Bottom
Cleaning

Island living in Wilmington comes with environmental realities — salt air corrodes, coastal humidity breeds mildew, and marsh pollen coats every surface. Our deep cleaning is designed for these conditions, going room by room from ceiling to floor: scrubbing moisture-prone bathrooms, dusting salt-air residue from blinds and woodwork, and sanitizing kitchens that work harder in the humidity. Perfect for seasonal refreshes or pre-holiday preparation.

Recurring maintenance cleaning service for homes in Savannah and Hilton Head

Maintenance
Cleaning

Wilmington Island homeowners have built a lifestyle worth protecting, and a consistently clean home is part of it. Our recurring maintenance service visits weekly, biweekly, or monthly — keeping up with the coastal dust, sand, and humidity so your home is always guest-ready. We focus on kitchens, bathrooms, and the living spaces where island life happens.

Move in move out cleaning service for vacant homes

Vacant Home
Cleaning

Wilmington Island properties command premium prices, and buyers expect pristine condition. Our move-in/move-out cleaning meets those expectations — deep cleaning every surface, cabinet, and fixture to standards that satisfy realtors, sellers, and the discerning homeowners who are drawn to island living. We handle both the pre-listing clean and the move-in preparation.

Special laundry packages

Laundry
Packages

Between beach days, boat outings, and the salt air that makes everything feel a little damp, Wilmington Island laundry accumulates quickly. Add our wash, dry, and fold service to any cleaning appointment and come home to fresh linens and neatly folded clothes — more time for the waterfront, less time in the laundry room.

How do you handle homes with valuable items?2026-07-20T10:49:42-04:00

Our team treats every home with care and respect. If you have heirlooms, valuables, or irreplaceable keepsakes, we suggest placing them somewhere safe or letting us know not to clean that area. A closed door or drawer signals to our team to skip that space. While we carry insurance, some items cannot be replaced, so storing them safely is always a good idea.

Introducing Home Sweet Home, an exclusive fragrance developed in partnership with Salacia Salts

There’s nothing quite like walking into your Wilmington Island home after a day on the water to find it perfectly clean. Our Home Sweet Home room fragrance was created to keep that feeling alive, filling your home with coastal-inspired freshness between visits.

Home Sweet Home was developed in partnership with Savannah’s Entrepreneur of the Year (2019), Cari Clark Phelps, owner of Salacia Salts and Clark Creative Communications.

Our founder Nicole worked with Cari to develop the perfect combination of southern-inspired ingredients and products for a happy home. Inspired by blooming jasmine, abundant gardens, and the beautiful coastal islands, the team created a fragrance and collection of products we’re proud to bring into your home.

This phthalate-free spray raises the standard of clean. This serene room fragrance is a combination of coastal fruits, southern florals and garden-grown ingredients. That feeling…When you walk into your home after it’s just been cleaned. Ahhh… We agree it’s one of the best feelings to have and it is our goal to create that feeling each time we clean your home. We hope this room fragrance will evoke that feeling time and again, in between our cleanings. Perk up your home’s interior and give yourself that boost of happiness and energy.

What To Expect From Hiring a Maid Service

Maid Services | Wilmington Island & Tybee Island

Nicole Hubbard, Owner

Having a maid service helping with cleaning and maintaining your home can be a very positive thing in your life. One of the most important advantages is the gift of time, because everyone can use more time. Of course, there will still be some security and safety questions involved with allowing someone in your house.

We hope you have had a chance to look over the “7 Questions When Hiring a Maid Service”, these should also be used for any cleaning service that will be at work in your home. Look for clear and direct answers to the questions you are asking. If it seems that they are looking for ways to cut corners, or not following procedures and laws to the letter, it is not a good sign. These red flags should be taken seriously and you don’t want to allow a cleaning service you do not fully trust to carry out their operations in your home.

There is also some discomfort about the unknown. You may be apprehensive to work with a company if you have never had cleaning service work in your home and don’t know what to expect. Here is a list of things we have compiled for those who want to know what it is like to have a maid service at work in your home.

What does a maid service usually cost?

What does a maid service cost these days? When I was young and growing up, I only knew of one person who hired a maid and she employed my grandmother. This was a very long time ago and today, many working professionals have a maid service. Today, it is not the rich and prosperous who can afford the luxury, but the two-person couple with kids and maybe a pet.

You will find that maid services typically charge by the hour, the size of the home, the specific tasks they will address, the number of pets, and many other individual details you will want to discuss with your maid service. The national average for maid service is about $165. If you want the most reliable quote for your home, ask us. It’s no obligation and you get a great price to begin shopping around.

Know that if you are paying for the hour, your maid service may choose to send out two or three maid services and you will have to divide the project among each of the maids that arrive. This sounds perfectly logical but can be a point of discussion if one is not prepared for this arrangement.

But you may be in an especially financially strapped situation right now. This is all the more reason to consider outsourcing your cleaning tasks and focusing your mind and efforts where they will make you most profits. Your maid service will not even cost as much as you think either. If you have a very specific budget, choose one portion of tasks that you would like your cleaning service to handle. This could be the dishes and bathrooms twice a week, the kitchen and laundry once a week and/or the living room and dusting once every two weeks.

Think of it like this, if you are cleaning your own home, is it worth more than what you pay for a cleaner?

What kind of questions will the maid service ask?

Most often, your maid service will want to know about your home. They will want to know how many bathrooms, how big is the home, how many pets live indoors, how many people live with you. They will want to know what areas of the home need attention. Maybe you will want to do a deep cleaning before or after a major celebration or party, a spring cleaning or a regular scheduled cleaning plan. We will then ask about how soon you need the services. But there won’t be any tough questions.

What does a maid service do?

We have a clear service description on our website that lists the tasks we do and do not undertake. When you make your initial phone call we will take the opportunity to reviews this list with you to make sure your needs are covered by the services we offer. For example, some maid services will offer to clean carpets, windows and refrigerators as extras services — We do! — but many others will not. So, think ahead of what exactly you want help with before you make the phone call.

What can I do about the chemical smells of the cleaning agents employed by many maid services?

We completely agree with you and are against the big cleaning companies that buy cheap chemical cleaning agents in great quantities because it is cheaper that way. For this reason, we will use the cleaning supplies and equipment that you have in your home. As expert cleaning specialists, we will wield these tools with special skill and practice not common in most people today. This will ensure that the minimum cleaning chemicals are applied to clean the maximum area efficiently. Our fine-tuned cleaning practices also preserve the longevity of your cleaning equipment and surfaces being cleaned as well.

Of course, if you don’t have any cleaning agents or tools in your home, we can bring our own. We work with Speed Cleaning which produces an attractive line of cleaning agents that we, as experts in the cleaning industry, highly-recommend.

Do I have to clean before the maid service comes?

2 out of every 3 customers admits to cleaning the home to a certain degree before the maid service arrives. So, if you choose to clean or not to clean, you will not be alone in your decision. We recommend tidying up your home to a certain degree, unless you have no problem with a stranger handling your highly personal belongings like dirty socks, toys of all types and other personal belongings. This will also allow the professional cleaners more time to focus on the really difficult jobs like cleaning the bathrooms, floors and shelves.

Should I hide my valuables?

While all of the employees on our staff are highly-professional and reliable cleaning perfectionists with a long history of immaculate services in the cleaning industry, we admit that not everyone in the industry has such high-standards of excellence. We recommend that you always stow your valuables in a safe place simply to avoid the potential for damage. You can then mention specific areas that are not to be cleaned in your initial interview. We can then stay away from your grandmother’s rocker, your antique baby grand piano or a specific closet or desk.

Is it weird if I’m home when the maid service comes to clean?

This is entirely up to you, but you should plan to be out of the way of the cleaners when they are moving about so choose a time when the house is not heavily populated. If you will not be home, you will need to leave specific information about how they can get in and out as well as your priority and secondary objectives. If you do choose to stay home, don’t worry things will get less weird as time goes by.
