Have Questions? We’ve Got Answers!

Why are some cleaning services priced lower than others?2026-03-05T16:05:09-05:00

Many smaller cleaning companies try to grow by offering very low pricing. These businesses are often run by one person or a small family team. While the prices may look appealing, they often are not sustainable for long term operations.

Lower prices can also result from avoiding business expenses such as insurance, licensing, or tax responsibilities.

Hubbard’s Maid Service takes pride in being licensed, bonded, and insured. Our pricing reflects the professional service and dependable quality we bring to every home we clean in Savannah.

Do you lock customers into agreements?2026-03-05T15:57:47-05:00

Not at all. We don’t require contracts because we want to earn your trust with every cleaning visit. Our approach is based on clear communication and honest feedback so we can continue providing excellent service.

Do your cleaners have insurance coverage?2026-03-05T15:40:53-05:00

Yes. We are bonded and insured, and our house cleaners are also covered by workers compensation insurance for additional protection.

Are your cleaning professionals supervised and trained?2026-03-05T15:35:27-05:00

Absolutely. Our cleaning technicians are experienced professionals who go through a five day training program with a certified training manager. Since cleaning homes requires patience and attention to detail, we also perform quality control home checks to make sure everything meets our standards.

How do you choose the people who clean homes?2026-03-05T15:29:58-05:00

We focus on hiring trusted members of our community rather than strangers. We provide competitive wages to attract reliable professionals. Every cleaner goes through a careful screening process, detailed training, and ongoing inspections so you can feel confident about the care of your home.

Are there limits to what Hubbard’s Maid Service will clean?2026-03-05T15:24:32-05:00

We are committed to providing consistent, quality house cleaning to every client. Our services are customized to your home so we can maintain that standard of care.

There are a few services we do not provide:
Ironing
Cleaning or removing pet or rodent waste
Cleaning vomit, blood, or fecal matter
Power washing
Cleaning drapes or steam cleaning upholstery or furniture

Do you clean windows inside the home?2026-03-05T15:18:42-05:00

Yes, we do. Window washing is available for an additional charge.

How do you handle accidental breakage during a cleaning?2026-03-05T15:12:41-05:00

We always treat your home and belongings with great care. If something is accidentally broken while we are cleaning, we will work with you to repair or replace the item when possible. Insurance claims may also be filed when appropriate. Photos can be very helpful when reviewing the situation.

What if I notice a spot that needs more attention?2026-03-05T15:04:47-05:00

Simply reach out within 24 hours by phone or email and we’ll come back to reclaim the area at no charge. If you can send a picture, that helps us a lot.

Do cleaners need access through my alarm system on cleaning day?2026-03-05T14:58:57-05:00

If your home has a security system, please make sure it is disarmed before your cleaning appointment. If you provide instructions for operating the alarm, we cannot be responsible for alarms that may be triggered or any first responder dispatch fees. If you live in a gated community, please add your cleaner’s name to the authorized entry list.

Will my cleaning still happen if it falls on a holiday?2026-03-05T14:52:51-05:00

If your cleaning falls on a holiday and your cleaner is not working that day, we will contact you a couple of weeks in advance to reschedule. We observe New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

Who will be cleaning my home during the appointment?2026-03-05T14:46:50-05:00

For bigger deep cleaning jobs, Hubbard’s Maid Service cleaners often arrive as a team. Occasionally, a quality control manager may also visit to make sure the quality of our work meets our standards.

What are your available cleaning service intervals?2026-03-05T14:41:26-05:00

Our cleaning services can be scheduled weekly, biweekly, or monthly depending on your cleaning needs. Hubbard’s Maid Service also offers special occasion cleanings and move in or move out cleaning services.

Why is the first cleaning considered a deeper service?2026-03-05T14:36:06-05:00

The first cleaning includes a detailed top to bottom cleaning to bring your home up to Hubbard’s Maid Service standards. Because this is our first visit, it takes more time to address all areas. Once the home is established at that level, recurring services help maintain the clean.

How do I let the cleaning team know about my preferences?2026-03-05T14:30:06-05:00

The best way is to email our office with your instructions. We will update your file so your preferences are recorded and shared with any team servicing your home.

Do I need to worry about workers’ compensation coverage for the cleaner?2026-03-05T14:24:27-05:00

No. Hubbard’s Maid Service takes care of all employment taxes and related paperwork, including local, state, federal, and Social Security taxes.

Do you ensure your cleaning staff can legally work in the United States?2026-03-05T14:16:56-05:00

Yes. Every Hubbard’s Maid Service employee is authorized to work in the United States. We complete I-9 verification and pay taxes properly.

How do you handle homes with valuable items?2026-03-05T14:10:09-05:00

Our team treats every home with care and respect. If you have heirlooms, valuables, or irreplaceable keepsakes, we suggest placing them somewhere safe or letting us know not to clean that area. A closed door or drawer signals to our team to skip that space. While we carry insurance, some items cannot be replaced, so storing them safely is always a good idea.

How do you handle homes with pets?2026-03-05T14:00:48-05:00

We love pets and are always careful around them. To help us clean your home thoroughly and efficiently, we recommend keeping pets in a separate or secured area while we work. Please let us know ahead of time what pets you have so we can avoid startling them or accidentally letting them outside. For safety and sanitation reasons, we cannot clean homes with flea infestations or pick up animal waste.

What if I forget to provide entry instructions before my cleaning?2026-03-05T13:55:14-05:00

If the team arrives and cannot access the home, a lockout fee will apply. We will attempt to contact you to see if entry can still be arranged.

What if I want certain products used during my cleaning?2026-03-05T13:49:02-05:00

Simply leave those products out with instructions for our team. We’re happy to use them. If you’d like bleach used in your home, please provide it since we do not keep bleach on hand.

Do clients need to be present during the cleaning?2026-03-05T13:42:47-05:00

Not necessarily. You’re welcome to stay or go about your day. If you’ll be out, just make sure we have a way to enter your home. Protecting your home and privacy is always a priority.

Will my cleaning cost change after the first appointment?2026-03-05T13:37:29-05:00

The first cleaning generally costs more because our team is performing a deeper clean to bring the home up to Hubbard’s Maid Service standards. After that, maintaining the home with regular visits is easier and usually less expensive. We will give you estimates for both services. If the home goes more than a month without cleaning, the next visit may be treated as an initial cleaning again.

How is my house cleaning estimate created?2026-03-05T13:30:51-05:00

We create a personalized estimate by looking at the unique details of your home. This includes the size of the home, number of residents, pets, floor types, clutter levels, and how often you’d like our technicians to clean.

Do you use special cleaning products for your services?2026-03-05T13:25:00-05:00

Yes. We mainly use products from Speedcleaning.com. They offer some of the best cleaning tools and products available.

What should I do if something gets damaged while my home is being cleaned?2026-03-05T13:18:36-05:00

Our technicians work carefully in every home, but if something is accidentally broken during your cleaning service, we take responsibility. Hubbard’s Maid Service is bonded and insured and covers smaller breakages up to $100. Larger damages fall under our general liability insurance.

Our technicians report any breakage immediately so we can notify you right away.

Normal wear and tear in the home is not considered breakage. This includes loose door knobs, worn grout, or crumbling caulking. We also ask that wall items such as mirrors or pictures are securely mounted and able to withstand light dusting pressure.

If you notice an issue, please take a photo and submit it here:
https://hubbardsmaidservice.com/incident-report/

Please contact the office directly with any special instructions or concerns about your home so we can properly document everything.

Our employees are not permitted to accept private work from clients unless Hubbard’s Maid Service receives a finder’s fee, as outlined in their employment agreement.

We provide all cleaning supplies and equipment for each service. If you prefer we use your own supplies, we can certainly do that, but we are not responsible for damages caused by customer supplied products or equipment.

How can I get my first cleaning on the calendar?2026-03-05T13:02:46-05:00

If you have already received an estimate, simply reply to the email that includes your quote to confirm your appointment. If the proposed cleaning date does not work for you, just include your preferred date in the reply.

If you still need a quote, request one here:
https://hubbardsmaidservice.com/request-a-quote/

100% Satisfaction Guarantee Policy:
We guarantee our services. If the job was not completed according to the quoted cleaning, we will return within 24 to 72 hours to correct the issue at no additional charge. Please reach out to one of our office staff members rather than the cleaning technician with any concerns. Issues reported more than 24 hours after the cleaning will be addressed during the next scheduled visit.

Payment Policy:
Pricing is finalized once the estimate is issued and cannot be negotiated afterward. If there is a quality concern, our team can return within 24 to 72 hours to correct the issue. Discounts are not offered unless we are first given the opportunity to re clean. Payment is collected prior to service and must be made electronically or with cash.

What’s the best way to tell you how my cleaning went?2026-03-05T11:56:34-05:00

We encourage all clients to share their feedback. Your comments help us continually improve your service, resolve any problems, and give recognition to the cleaners who do an exceptional job.

Share your feedback here:
https://hubbardsmaidservice.my.canva.site/

What should I know about your lockout fee?2026-03-05T11:21:57-05:00

Our lockout fee works much like our cancellation policy. If our cleaners arrive but cannot access your home due to a locked door, pets not being contained, a power outage, water being shut off, or if the team is turned away, the full cleaning cost will be charged as the lockout fee.

What happens if I need to cancel my scheduled cleaning service?2026-03-05T11:02:20-05:00

We no longer allow recurring clients to skip their cleanings. For legacy clients and clients without a dedicated cleaner, cancellations made within 48 hours of the service will result in half of the cleaning fee being applied.

Will my cleaning start exactly at the scheduled time?2026-03-04T15:50:21-05:00

We do our best to stay on schedule, but we cannot promise an exact arrival time. Because our technicians may be coming from another home and dealing with travel or traffic, timing can occasionally shift.

Are Your Cleaners Employees?2022-08-11T10:57:15-04:00

Everyone who works for us is an employee. We do not subcontract and we screen and train each one of our workers. This allows us to maintain the highest level of consistency with our cleanings.

Do You Pay For Referrals?2026-03-04T13:52:57-05:00

Yes! Referrals are one of the best compliments we can receive. When your referral receives a cleaning, you’ll get a $150 credit. Send us their information here:

https://hubbardsmaidservice.com/referral-program/

Why Are Some Of Your Cleaning Services Cheaper Than The Others?2022-08-11T10:55:06-04:00

You ultimately get what you pay for when you hire a cleaning service. While you may assume that you can hire anyone for the job, you won’t realize you are getting lousy cleaning for the lower price until the job is done. Not only that, but you will have to go through the entire vetting process from start to finish to find a maid that you trust with your belongings. You will need to train them, run background checks, and even pay taxes on them. Ultimately, the majority of our clients value their time more than this and they understand the value we provide.

Should I Get a Spring Cleaning Yearly?2022-08-11T10:53:59-04:00

The majority of the clients we service do get annual Spring cleanings. That way, they can get a deep cleaning to reach those areas that don’t normally get cleaned during our weekly or bi-weekly cleanings. It is less expensive than getting a first-time Deluxe cleaning package because this deep cleaning won’t be as extensive if your home is already getting the surface cleaned regularly.

What If I Need To Change The Day Of My Service?2026-03-04T13:46:11-05:00

If you need to change your cleaning day, just visit the Customer Resources tab on our homepage and select the Rescheduling Policy. That will take you to the Scheduling Form Request where you can submit your update:

https://hubbardsmaidservice.com/appointment-change-update-request/

Do I Need To Tip?2022-08-11T10:59:03-04:00

No, tipping is not required nor is it expected. However, all of our employees will certainly appreciate one for a job well done.

What If I Need Extra Services?2022-08-11T11:00:03-04:00

The good thing about hiring us is our versatility and flexibility. After all, we aren’t a cleaning franchise with a rigid business model. We tailor our services to our client’s needs. You can call us and let us know exactly what you need to be done. You can make all of the special requests you want and we will be able to give you a custom quote.

What If I Need To Skip or Cancel Service?2026-03-04T13:38:20-05:00

If you need to pause or skip a visit, go to the Customer Resources tab and choose Scheduling Policy, then complete the request form for scheduling updates.

Are My Belongings Safe?2022-08-11T11:01:42-04:00

You can rest easy knowing that we conduct thorough background checks on every one of our employees. We look at their job history and we conduct employment verification checks. We have an excellent track record of good hiring and we don’t experience much employee turnover at all. This makes us a cleaning company you can count on. We prioritize both safety and security within our hiring practices to ensure we can give each client the greatest peace of mind.

Who Provides The Cleaning Chemicals and Equipment?2022-08-11T11:02:26-04:00

To provide optimal cleaning, we use any supplies or equipment you have. If you don’t have them or don’t want to provide them, we will use our own. We always have back up cleaning supplies and equipment on hand. You won’t find maid services cleaning their equipment between cleaning houses. Therefore, you could end up with greater exposure to bacteria, viruses, and germs when you don’t supply your own.

What Time and Day Will You Show Up For Cleaning?2026-03-04T13:33:13-05:00

Cleaning appointments are scheduled based on our daily routes. We provide service Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and sometimes Saturdays for special requests. Our usual arrival windows are 8:00–8:30 am or 11:00 am–1:00 pm. Office cleanings can also be done after hours or on weekends.

What If I’m Not Satisfied With My Service?2022-08-11T11:03:52-04:00

We have a 100% guarantee with our service. If at any point you are not satisfied, you can call us and we will return within 24 hours to re-clean all of the areas you weren’t happy with. If we are unable to satisfy you, we offer a full refund in most instances and we will terminate our contract or partnership.

When Am I Required To Pay?2026-03-04T13:27:18-05:00

Payment is required before your service takes place so we can provide smooth scheduling and excellent customer care.

Am I Required To Sign a Contract?2026-03-04T13:13:09-05:00

No contract required. We just ask that recurring service clients follow our no-exceptions, no-skip policy.

Introducing Home Sweet Home, an exclusive fragrance developed in partnership with Salacia Salts

Home Sweet Home was developed in partnership with Savannah’s Entrepreneur of the Year (2019), Cari Clark Phelps, owner of Salacia Salts and Clark Creative Communications.

Our founder Nicole worked with Cari to develop the perfect combination of southern-inspired ingredients and products for a happy home. Inspired by blooming jasmine, abundant gardens, and the beautiful coastal islands, the team created a fragrance and collection of products we’re proud to bring into your home.

This phthalate-free spray raises the standard of clean. This serene room fragrance is a combination of coastal fruits, southern florals and garden-grown ingredients. That feeling…When you walk into your home after it’s just been cleaned. Ahhh… We agree it’s one of the best feelings to have and it is our goal to create that feeling each time we clean your home. We hope this room fragrance will evoke that feeling time and again, in between our cleanings. Perk up your home’s interior and give yourself that boost of happiness and energy.

What To Expect From Hiring a Maid Service

Maid Services | Wilmington Island & Tybee Island

Nicole Hubbard, Owner

Having a maid service helping with cleaning and maintaining your home can be a very positive thing in your life. One of the most important advantages is the gift of time, because everyone can use more time. Of course, there will still be some security and safety questions involved with allowing someone in your house.

We hope you have had a chance to look over the “7 Questions When Hiring a Maid Service”, these should also be used for any cleaning service that will be at work in your home. Look for clear and direct answers to the questions you are asking. If it seems that they are looking for ways to cut corners, or not following procedures and laws to the letter, it is not a good sign. These red flags should be taken seriously and you don’t want to allow a cleaning service you do not fully trust to carry out their operations in your home.

There is also some discomfort about the unknown. You may be apprehensive to work with a company if you have never had cleaning service work in your home and don’t know what to expect. Here is a list of things we have compiled for those who want to know what it is like to have a maid service at work in your home.

What does a maid service usually cost?

What does a maid service cost these days? When I was young and growing up, I only knew of one person who hired a maid and she employed my grandmother. This was a very long time ago and today, many working professionals have a maid service. Today, it is not the rich and prosperous who can afford the luxury, but the two-person couple with kids and maybe a pet.

You will find that maid services typically charge by the hour, the size of the home, the specific tasks they will address, the number of pets, and many other individual details you will want to discuss with your maid service. The national average for maid service is about $165. If you want the most reliable quote for your home, ask us. It’s no obligation and you get a great price to begin shopping around.

Know that if you are paying for the hour, your maid service may choose to send out two or three maid services and you will have to divide the project among each of the maids that arrive. This sounds perfectly logical but can be a point of discussion if one is not prepared for this arrangement.

But you may be in an especially financially strapped situation right now. This is all the more reason to consider outsourcing your cleaning tasks and focusing your mind and efforts where they will make you most profits. Your maid service will not even cost as much as you think either. If you have a very specific budget, choose one portion of tasks that you would like your cleaning service to handle. This could be the dishes and bathrooms twice a week, the kitchen and laundry once a week and/or the living room and dusting once every two weeks.

Think of it like this, if you are cleaning your own home, is it worth more than what you pay for a cleaner?

What kind of questions will the maid service ask?

Most often, your maid service will want to know about your home. They will want to know how many bathrooms, how big is the home, how many pets live indoors, how many people live with you. They will want to know what areas of the home need attention. Maybe you will want to do a deep cleaning before or after a major celebration or party, a spring cleaning or a regular scheduled cleaning plan. We will then ask about how soon you need the services. But there won’t be any tough questions.

What does a maid service do?

We have a clear service description on our website that lists the tasks we do and do not undertake. When you make your initial phone call we will take the opportunity to reviews this list with you to make sure your needs are covered by the services we offer. For example, some maid services will offer to clean carpets, windows and refrigerators as extras services — We do! — but many others will not. So, think ahead of what exactly you want help with before you make the phone call.

What can I do about the chemical smells of the cleaning agents employed by many maid services?

We completely agree with you and are against the big cleaning companies that buy cheap chemical cleaning agents in great quantities because it is cheaper that way. For this reason, we will use the cleaning supplies and equipment that you have in your home. As expert cleaning specialists, we will wield these tools with special skill and practice not common in most people today. This will ensure that the minimum cleaning chemicals are applied to clean the maximum area efficiently. Our fine-tuned cleaning practices also preserve the longevity of your cleaning equipment and surfaces being cleaned as well.

Of course, if you don’t have any cleaning agents or tools in your home, we can bring our own. We work with Speed Cleaning which produces an attractive line of cleaning agents that we, as experts in the cleaning industry, highly-recommend.

Do I have to clean before the maid service comes?

2 out of every 3 customers admits to cleaning the home to a certain degree before the maid service arrives. So, if you choose to clean or not to clean, you will not be alone in your decision. We recommend tidying up your home to a certain degree, unless you have no problem with a stranger handling your highly personal belongings like dirty socks, toys of all types and other personal belongings. This will also allow the professional cleaners more time to focus on the really difficult jobs like cleaning the bathrooms, floors and shelves.

Should I hide my valuables?

While all of the employees on our staff are highly-professional and reliable cleaning perfectionists with a long history of immaculate services in the cleaning industry, we admit that not everyone in the industry has such high-standards of excellence. We recommend that you always stow your valuables in a safe place simply to avoid the potential for damage. You can then mention specific areas that are not to be cleaned in your initial interview. We can then stay away from your grandmother’s rocker, your antique baby grand piano or a specific closet or desk.

Is it weird if I’m home when the maid service comes to clean?

This is entirely up to you, but you should plan to be out of the way of the cleaners when they are moving about so choose a time when the house is not heavily populated. If you will not be home, you will need to leave specific information about how they can get in and out as well as your priority and secondary objectives. If you do choose to stay home, don’t worry things will get less weird as time goes by.
